WARNING 1099-misc issues

I just got my 2015 tax form with someone else's name and SS#.

I also received a 1099-MISC with someone else's name, SSN, and income, but with my address. I alerted my CA, and advise everyone else who has this mistake to do so as well.

Adding to this post to say I also received a 1099 with someone else's name, SSN, income and my address on it, which I will shred. I've emailed and called ASEE. Others who have contacted their CAs may want to also contact ASEE, since I think they are the ones who send the 1099s.

This is a serious issue! Same happened to me!!!!!!!!!!

Same thing happened to me. I contacted ASEE and they advised me to shred the document. They also said that they would send a new one and provide me (all of us it seems) 12 months of credit monitoring.

This happened to me as well. I shredded the one I got and received a correct one in the mail about a week later. I also received an email about a week ago with instructions on how to receive the free credit monitoring.
