Internship Sick/Vacation Leave

Does anyone have any experience with what happens when you get sick while at an internship or need to take a day off?

Also, does SMART send out a timesheet for you to fill out to double check your hours? It seems like there are no checks and balances for making sure we work a 40 hour work week.

At my SF there was no time sheet. I remember reading that some places will actually tell you what time to work, but mine wasn't like that. On my last internship, I took one day off because I was sick and took another day off because my girlfriend was visiting for a 3 day weekend. (I had not intended to take off the latter, but when my co-workers found out she was coming they literally forced me to take the day off). On both cases, nobody seemed to care, their reason being that if I was a real employee I would have earned a couple of paid days off anyway.

What is the hourly wage for the internships?

No timesheet requirements.

I think after 3 sick days per month you have to send in some sort of form with supervisor signature/doctors note.

I showed my boss the handbook where it said that and he interpreted that as 3 "no questions asked" sick days per month, which I took if needed.
