Is anyone at the Air Force Research Lab in Ohio. If so, how has the experience been? Is there a lot of research for SMART scholars to do?

There can be. It can vary a lot from branch to branch how much research there is to do. I'm assuming you should have been picked up by a branch that actually does research and not just contact management.
