Tuition

If I already have most of my tuition covered by the school through merit scholarships, will smart still pay the full tuition amount? My school will not decrease their own scholarships until the total "cost of attendance" is reached, but I'm just wondering if SMART pays the full tuition amount or just what's left to be paid. In the first case, my university awards could be used for room and board.

If it's government paid I'd imagine scholarships hit your bill and then your tuition is paid via scholarship but it's full payment. At least this is my experience so you end up with an overpayment (refund)

You might need to check with both your school and SMART about this to negotiate something. SMART doesn't pay your tuition right away. They require your school to provide an invoice and then SMART pays it usually towards the middle to end of the semester. Make sure your school sends SMART the full bill that reflects your tuition before they apply your other scholarships. This will ensure they pay your full tuition. You may not be able to receive your other scholarships as a refund until SMART pays their bill however. So don't depend on that money right away. You may not see any money until the end of the semester because I doubt your school would send you any money until things are fully paid on their end. So again, make sure you email your school and get it in writing that they will be billing SMART the full amount before other scholarships.

Could you explain how SMART pays for our tuition? For example, my fall tuition is due in August. When will SMART send my university the money?

Does anyone remember if we specified cost of tuition in our application?

We didn't but it's not hard to look up for the facility
