Maintaining GPA

Post by jtarp »

Has anyone ever failed a class and/or not met the cumulative 3.0 requirement post-award? This is my first term after accepting the scholarship and I am worried that I may end up under 3.0.

You really think you might fall under a 3.0 cumulative? If so, you should get in touch with your CA immediately (as much as it pains me to say it - they never helped me out much). My understanding is that they can put you on a leave of absence so you can skirt that rule. However, it's really late in the Semester, which may cause you some problems. I would do it sooner rather than later.

Yes because in the handbook it says cumulative post-scholarship... this is my first quarter on scholarship and while I had a 3.8 applying I drank too much this quarter and am anticipating a borderline 3.0. So my cumulative after this quarter may or may not be below.

Ah. I didn't realize that was in the handbook. So yeah, you should contact your CA. I probably wouldn't mention the drinking but that's your call.
