Just doing the regular reminder of/easy link access to the "Debtor's Discord" for SMART that I run that specializes in materials related to consequences of/fighting against dismissal from the SMART program.

It is also a good resource to ask participants who left the program about all the things that can go wrong by accepting a SMART fellowship.
I figure I should also mention that default rates with the SMART program are, to the best of my knowledge and admission of the US SecDef R&E's office, just under 10%...so the odds of things going wrong (or badly enough for you to want to leave and take the financial hit) are non-negligible.

Thanks for continuing the visibility of this information and volunteering your time to perpetuate it. I hope it continues to help more people.
I'm a Phase 2 recipient, B.S. in Computer Science, B.S. in Math from Virginia Tech Dec. 2019. I've been with SMART since Spring 2017; Dahlgren is my SF.
Don't walk, run away from SMART (see my first post on this forum).
