Can HS seniors apply for SMART?

Hi,
I am the parent of a high school senior. I've been researching scholarships he should apply for and stumbled across the SMART scholarship/internship program. He currently has a 4.0gpa and scored 30 on the ACT. When I read the requirements on the SMART web site it looks like he is supposed to be enrolled in a participating college or university at the time he applies. Anyone have any helpful information for us? Thanks.

I think that you have to be able to send in college transcripts so you need to have been in college for at least a year already. Think about applying next year. (I was an award recipient this year.)

Just to expand on what GuestMaster said, SMART cannot be applied for in HS, but it can be applied for in the first year of college to receive for the Sophomore through Senior years.
Hope that helps,
