Freshman Applicant

Post by AppleClock »

I'm currently a freshman CS major. I am interested in applying, however I feel like my chances are really low. I had a 3.55 unweighted gpa in high school and a 35 in ACT. Since I am a freshman, I dont really have any references and activities in college yet. I feel like right now my chances are really low, and I don't know if I should apply this year or the next? Is there anyone who was in my position and got the scholarship?

I just got in last year, and I was a freshman as well. I also had a middling GPA in high school (~3.7), but my SAT was stronger like your ACT (1580). You certainly have a fighting chance. Assuming you have been working hard in class, you should be able to get your STEM teachers to write your letters of recommendation, as it seemed to work for me. Best of luck to you.
