Hello,
I am an freshman studying biomedical engineering. I have several questions.
Currently the university that I am attending is NOT ABET accredited, but is on track on becoming accredited by the end of the school year. Will this prevent me from receiving the scholarship?
If I decide to attend graduate school how will the work time be affected?
Is it possible for a recipient to enlist in the army?
Thanks!

Hi there,
My institution has only (I think) just become ABET accredited for the undergraduate BME program. I am in the PhD program.
Would you mind sharing what Sponsoring Facilities you stated as your preferences and what area of BME you are interested in? I was screened in the first round last year, then not picked up, and I wonder if it's because my initial research focus was too biology-heavy. My emphasis is more electrical engineering now, so I'm hoping that will help, but of course, it depends on the SF and matching to their needs/interests/available projects...

Hey Aletheia,
I don't remember all of my SF choices, but my top choice was the AF Life Cycle Management Center. I am currently focusing in prosthetics and cancer biology. I don't know how much they will take preference to that particularly. I've been heavily involved in a club called the Helping Hand Project which got me involved in the prosthetics in the first place.
Also just out of curiosity, what university are you attending? I'm at UNC Chapel Hill right now and was wondering about graduate school in Biomedical Engineering.
Good luck to you!
