pretty sure you either get flat out rejected, or something like being "waitlisted"

i got accepted!! but does anyone know if my basic training this summer thus taking a gap semester will affect me? i still intend to graduate on time utilizing extra summer/winter courses.

If the Department decides to offer you an award, you will be notified." is kind of like a waitlist? Whereas if you didn't get the last two sentences, it's just straight denial?

Is the waitlist only for people who interviewed or is it an actual waitlist where the facility is actually still considering you?

I wasn't personally interviewed, but I did have constant communication with someone from a facility. My theories are that either the facilities rank their students and smart choses who to select (hence the waitlist incase someone rejects the award), or they just haven't processed some applicants. But one thing I believe is for sure is that if you get the "waitlist" email, is because a facility named you. Time to pray and hope
