3rd year graduate microbiology student. Got rejected kind of sucks because was probably last time can apply and really wanted this for the career opportunity.

I have heard nothing, checking email more often than I should.

I am a current graduate student with funding from my PI for the rest of graduate school and I would still love to get the SMART scholarship. I know government work isn't for everybody but I consider the payback a perk I get a job when I graduate and don't have to find a post doc.

Thanks for the response Larry. I know of a few researchers at Usamriid that are doing work that is very interesting to me. I work with Brucella right now and would like to either work with it or maybe move into Bacillus anthracis. Would you suggest I contact them now and let them know I am intereste...
