Re: 2012 Applicants
I don't think anyone is arguing that vet preferences shouldn't exist. Rather, unfair advantages shouldn't be given to veterans over others who are more qualified. Like AZGeologist said a few posts back, the SF seemed to resent that that vet was chosen, even thought there were 3 people more highly q...

Re: 2012 Applicants
I wonder if the veterans preference is applied to SMART's list of students as a whole or on an SF by SF basis. None of the people my SF interviewed were vets, so if the latter the veterans preference won't bump my poor civilian butt down, but if the former it might. Which would be a bit disappointi...

Re: 2012 Applicants

Re: 2012 Applicants
How many of you used veterans preference points? The numbers reported to some veteran friendly sites showed a >85% awardance rate to veterans who made it into the final cut, and was curious on how many of them there were this year.

Re: 2012 Applicants
There are then three options. 1) You're involved with SMART, and you can tell us something, in which case you should just say it. 2) You're involved with SMART, but you aren't allowed to tell us anything, in which case you're a month behind deadline (and counting) and should really get off the inte...

Re: 2012 Applicants
I am assuming by the silence that everyone is either past the point in caring, already taken the high road of assuming they did not receive the award, or have gone crazy and are unable to use the internet presently.

Re: 2012 Applicants
With trying to setup summer/fall plans and waiting to hear back from ASEE I have almost gotten to the point where I set up my filter to delete any email from them, pretend I did not get it, and go about my business...
