If you didn't make it as a semifinalist you'll receive an email saying so but it won't specifically say if you were rejected by an SF or not. Does that make sense?

I applied last year and made it as a semifinalist and this forum was very active. I was expecting the same or similar level of activity this year but I feel like it's just been very quiet so far... and for some reason that's unnerving me. Like. What does it mean??

No, but last year I got an interview around two weeks after the first round of cuts. So I'm assuming the same time frame applies.

Semi-finalist Got the email at 0839!!

I applied last year and originally didn't make the cut buuuut ended up a semi-finalist as second-chancer.

So if you didn't make it it in the first round of emails, there's still hope!

I just got the email as well, but no sponsoring facilities were tagged in the signature as the email would suggest. Any ideas what that means? Last year I found out on my birthday that I didn't get it. Then a couple weeks later I got an email asking me to schedule an interview with a sponsoring facility.

2nd chances are a thing. So you never know.

Originally I wasn't even a semi-finalist, then a week later I got an email asking me for an interview.

Hope for the best but expect the worst!

Rejected at 1413 (PST).
BUT. I'm still holding on to a little sliver of hope...

No offer BUT no rejection letter either so...

Not sure why they said two weeks, but that's not true. Winners will be notified in early April.

I thought maybe they meant they would be notifying me that they were recommending me for the scholarship. IDK.

I had a few questions: in the interviews, do they normally press you on the programming languages you've listed (other than on your resume) on your cover letter, essay, etc.?
