Kind of?
If you didn't make it as a semifinalist you'll receive an email saying so but it won't specifically say if you were rejected by an SF or not. Does that make sense?

Re: interviews?
For those that have gotten phone calls, did the area codes match the locations? I’ve received a couple of calls that I can’t find any results for on Google (can’t determine if they are spam, assuming they are) The phone calls I got matched the area code. My phone also lets me know if a number is po...

Re: interviews?
Hi! So I just got a missed call from San Francisco, one of the cities for my top choices, and when my phone thinks it’s a scam it won’t ring, only show me the missed call. When I google the number there’s no “scam found” or even any information on it, which makes me think it was an SF calling. Do S...

Is it me or is this forum a lot more quiet than it was last year?
I applied last year and made it as a semifinalist and this forum was very active. I was expecting the same or similar level of activity this year but I feel like it's just been very quiet so far... and for some reason that's unnerving me. Like. What does it mean??

Re: 2022 Semifinalists
Aye, let's go. I'm a semi-finalist. Does anyone know how many people applied or how many have been selected as semi-finalists? just curious I doubt the stats are out yet. But. You can kinda math out how many people apply based on stats from last year. 2021 - 416 people were awarded the scholarship,...

No, but last year I got an interview around two weeks after the first round of cuts. So I'm assuming the same time frame applies.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 8:32 pmHas anyone been contacted about doing an interview yet? Just wondering what's going on with other people

Semi-finalist

Got the email at 0839!!
I applied last year and originally didn't make the cut buuuut ended up a semi-finalist as second-chancer.
So if you didn't make it it in the first round of emails, there's still hope!

Last year I found out on my birthday that I didn't get it. Then a couple weeks later I got an email asking me to schedule an interview with a sponsoring facility.

I thought maybe they meant they would be notifying me that they were recommending me for the scholarship. IDK.ryantetreault wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 8:19 pmNot sure why they said two weeks, but that's not true. Winners will be notified in early April.

Re: Interview calls
I had a few questions: in the interviews, do they normally press you on the programming languages you've listed (other than on your resume) on your cover letter, essay, etc.? And expect you to be highly-technically skilled in them? What kind of questions about them would there be then? Is it valid ...
