Has the actual dates for orientation been announced?

After reading my award letter it seems like your cumulative GPA must be above a 3.0 between application submission and start of program. After that, it must be 3.0 per semester & cumulative.

Word from SMART is "next few days"

I would assume workdays.

I not a fan of SMART listing an exact day on the website. If it is an approximate thing, it should be listed "week of" or something vaguer than the exact date of "March 30th".

Well... I did the dirty dead and e-mailed smart. When(if) I get a response before notification come out I will post the reply. Sounds fishy that one location would give differnt info than another but that is the way the government works! All is not lost on today yet... at 5pm I will call it a close...

My guess would be if we haven't heard anything from anybody by now, it's probably not going to be today...

I received a call from the AF liaison office. Seems two different AF bases had me selected as a finalist. I had to choose one. I guess I'm now a finalist for the AF, but I'm still not officially a SMART scholar. I guess there is the big meeting next week when the different branches get together and ...

I applied for Wright Patterson (propulsion), Arnold, and Redstone. Never heard from any of them.

What's the process after being nominated? I know there are primary and alternates according to some of the posts I've read here. What makes you either one?

EE major with a heavy mechanical background. As far as what makes me stand out, I'm interested to know too. I hope to learn more after the phone interviews.

Got an answer to my own question in the form of another call to set up a time for an interview at a different base!

On question that has been on my mind...Has anybody been contacted by 2 different facilities? I have been contacted by one not on my list and was wondering if when a facility selects someone to talk to do they remove you from the "pool" of applicants that can be contacted?

I'm a CC transfer. Just got an email requesting a time for phone interview. It wasn't one of my 3 choices but who cares! I'm just happy somebody wants to talk to me!

Wow, that's unfortunate. I just checked the SMART Sponsoring Facility list and they've got EE listed as a STEM field. You'd think if they weren't looking for EEs they wouldn't list EE.

Makes we wonder about my choices (EE too)...
