Re: Current Feds
I am almost in the same situation, I am currently a federal employee with USDA and I am going to have to resign to accept this scholarship. I really don't want to do that, so I am going to ask my sponsoring facility and the SPO if they would allow my agency to keep me on Leave Without Pay Status unt...

Re: Clearance
I just hope it is either Major Specific or Sponsoring Facility Specific because I have not gotten any e-mails about security clearance. All e-mails I have received lately are related to Orientation.

Re: Change of Degree....
When you are in a BS/MS program once you fulfill all requirements to receive your bachelor's degree you can request a cash award increase, so you would be moving from 25K to 33K per year. You should check with the ASEE SMART Scholarship Team before you do anything though. If you graduate with a 3.0 ...

Re: Orientation
I believe that the Orientation Information document states that you only need to submit your itinerary if you DID NOT use RESX to make your travel arrangements.

Re: Award Adjustment Requests
In my case, not exactly, I did NOT request for any extra semesters of funding, I just requested to graduate in the fall instead of the summer in order to fulfill the summer internship requirement.

Re: Award Adjustment Requests
That is exactly the response I got this afternoon, so I think we will be ok. I requested to change my degree completion date from August 2012 to December 2012 so I can accomodate for the summer internship requirement. I checked with both my SF and the SPO before submitting it and they both said it s...

Re: 2011 Scholars
Between the e-mail update that the SPO sent and Guest's post above I think most questions have been answered. I just need to add that you should sign under APPLICANT on the Declaration of Federal Employment (Form 306) not under APPOINTEE.

Re: 2011 Scholars
I vote for checking with ASEE first before creating a Facebook page, in the meantime we can use this forum as a point of contact between all selected candidates that want to participate. I started filling out all the forms today and I have many questions I am forwarding to ASEE and my SF POC, once I...

Re: Been Contacted?
Here is an idea, since we can't do anything about the notifications, they will be sent whenever ASEE is ready, what about doing something that us candidates can benefit from. I would like to see people that were awarded the scholarship on previous years describe their whole application process like ...
