Hopefully their servers crashed and they lost all applications and award lists and will now have to award the scholarships based on who has been checking this site repeatedly for the past few weeks.
(Just a little wishful thinking)

Welcome to the club! Admitting you have a problem is the first step.
And hopefully the last step is accepting a scholarship offer.
xkcd, you must have the patience of a monk if you're only checking your email every 15 minutes.
Birkhead, welcome home. Glad you made it back safely.

Re: Internship
I'm applying for a 3 year award which means that this summer is open for me (except for the orientation). As such, I'm applying for an REU for this summer and I'll just make sure that I can get the week of orientation off if I'm offered both an REU and the scholarship.

Last year they sent them out on 12/24. Looks like they're following a different schedule this year. Here is last year's email: Thank you for submitting an application for the 2010 SMART Scholarship. We are writing to notify you of the next steps in the process. 1. TRANSCRIPTS: If you were enrolled i...

Re: What to expect from here?
I applied last year but didn't make it. A couple of weeks after the initial deadline they sent out SF-86's (security clearance application) which were due mid January or so. On Feb. 17th I received an email saying that I didn't make the cut to semi-finalist. The SF-86 isn't supposed to affect your c...

Re: picking locations/including in summary of goals
Does it do any good to list a facility that isn't one of the designated sponsoring facilities? The DoD Microsystems Technology Office seems better aligned to my research interests than the listed facilities. Would listing the MTO as an "other" choice provide any chance for that facility to see me or...
