If you did win, would you mind sharing the funding information? I'm curious if the increase SMART is expected to receive went into more scholars or more funding for the same number of scholars.

I'm an applicant, but I've been working for a DoD contractor the last 4 years and have a clearance plus lots of friends who are getting/have gotten one. You'd be surprised how long it takes, I know people who had to wait over a year (where they basically got paid to sit and wait for their clearance ...

It could also be by field or military organization recommended. Here's my info:

I also am now getting the new error message. I was interviewed by 2 SFs and was recommended by at least one.

I'm pretty sure internships for this summer would be unaffected by SMART.

I emailed SMART yesterday asking if there was any chance we might hear back in time for the NDSEG response deadline (April 25th). I was hoping for some information about the delay, or mention about why SMART is so late but NDSEG was not (since both are managed by ASEE and require lists from the DoD)...

The NDSEG notifications (also managed by ASEE) were sent out yesterday evening. ASEE had told someone on the phone that they would be released "by April 15th", so what happened supports the late April release hypothesis given above

I was interviewed my AFRL, which told me that their deadline was 3/10. Maybe SMART gave everyone an extension, which in turn pushed back our notification date.

Same email as well. Nearly had a heart attack when I saw the subject line.

No calls for me, and still have the "Either the email address or the password you entered is incorrect." error when I try to log in to the award site. I can still access the application site, though.

Briefly looking back at previous years, it seems sometimes NDSEG has been released first, and other years SMART has.

I use a password manager, so my login credentials are correct. I also had 2 interviews and was recommended by at least 1 SF. If it matters, I can still log in to smart.asee.org/apply.

My mistake, as everyone else said, SMART itself doesn't prevent you from accepting other funding so long as it is not federally funded. My particular university fellowship is what has the stipulation that I cannot have two awards, so should I win SMART, I would have to decline my other fellowship. D...

I think you generally have to choose one award or the other. I won a university fellowship at my graduate school and also am a semifinalist for SMART. If I will this scholarship I will have to choose whether to replace my fellowship with SMART or to turn down SMART and keep the fellowship. As you me...
