I'm not sure Federal Work Study would be an issue because I assume they say you technically aren't a federal employee or something like that. Although, like you point out, you will probably lose eligibility because of the extra SMART funding.
FWS is considered additional government funding, so you wouldn't be able to have a FWS job as the only funding you can receive from the government is federal loans and the SMART scholarship/stipends.
