AFRL is likely the only place you'd get real work experience.

Naval Surface Warfare Center - Crane Division (NSWC Crane), Crane, IN
Naval Surface Warfare Center - Carderock Division (NSWC CD), West Bethesda, MD
Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Fort Belvoir, VA [Info Page]
Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS), Kittery, ME [Info Page]
Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY), Norfolk, VA [Info Page]
Air Force Research Laboratory- 711th Human Performance Wing- Human Effectiveness Directorate- Bioeffects Division (AFRL 711 HPW/RHD), Fort Sam Houston, TX [Info Page]

Specifically Kirtland AFB and Fort Belvoir, but anything anyone knows about these places would be REALLY helpful.
