If the facility is more than 50 miles away from your residence, then you will recieve a $1200/week stipend from SMART in addition to your monthly award stipend.

Officially relocation costs aren't guaranteed, but some facilities will cover them. I may very with facility, but I have to find my own accommodations for the summer. I plan to check long term rates at local hotels against rental rates, and buy a cheaper car for while I'm there and resell it before I leave.

I haven't read every post so this may have been addressed somewhere. Are relocation expenses covered if you are selected for an internship at a facility on the other side of the country? Also, what about living arrangements for the summer? Do you have to find an apartment or are there apartments available for interns?
