Thanks so much! I'm really excited about this opportunity, and I hope that comes across if I get an interview. I didn't make it to that stage last year, but I think that, if I do, I'll be able to make a good impression. Congrats on being awarded the scholarship, and thank you for the positive feedback!

This is purely speculative, but it makes sense to me (given the high attrition rate of freshman engineering students from engineering programs) that you might have more evidence to show yourself as a valid investment at this point in your academic career. Just my opinion though since the selection process is fairly mysterious.

I applied for this scholarship last year as a freshman at UCLA, and I didn't get it. I'm reapplying, and I've actually already submitted my application. Does anyone know if the odds are more in my favor as a sophomore since they have to pay for one less year of tuition?
Extra info: I'm a cognitive science major and I'm working on creating a minor in communication disorders. I have 3 quarters of coding experience (2 in C++, 1 in Java) as well.
