I have been contacted by a few facilities over the past couple weeks. Since I have gained so much insight from this forum, I thought I would contribute by sharing some information that I desperately sought prior to my interviews. The "interviews" seem to vary from facility to facility. As mentioned in several posts, some facilities, supposedly, do not conduct any interviews. Obviously, I can't speak to this since I wouldn't know, but I assume it's valid since so many state this.
Some facility "interviews" are really just casual chats in which they do most of the talking, explaining what they do, the location, expectations, pay, etc. and they just want to be sure you are a good fit and that you would be interested if offered the scholarship through their facility (especially important if they were not in your list of preferred facilities).
I have also had a couple that were full interviews (Tell us about yourself, What are weaknesses/strengths?, etc.). They were fairly basic and never lasted more than an hour, but they were truly interviews. Also, each interview was on a conference call with 2-4 people on the line. I even had one that took place over multiple phone calls, one for general interest and information with the real interview to follow.
Also, something to note for timing... One mentioned that they are trying to have their interviews and rankings completed by April 12th. I have no idea if this is their personal deadline or if this is the overall "deadline" for all facilities. As many have stated, we certainly shouldn't be holding our breath to any date (if it's even possible not to), but I thought I'd share what I know.
