I received an Award at a "state" college. A local one.
My POC told me that he thought I had a very nice application and told me the only way people like I, with limited college experience, get through the 50% cut is through good letters of recommendation and experience. Both my letters of Rec were from known people within the AFRL and I had experience in the AFRL through the HSAP (High School Apprenticeship Program)
