Well folks, looks like I called it - standardized testing IS waived this cycle!

Looks like this applies for both GRE and the SATs/ACTs. Now I don't have to drop $200+ on a useless exam.

No, I don't think they will. Let's look at the possible types of applicant and when SAT (just so I don't have to say ACT everytime) scores were taken.

Incoming Freshman, took SAT's at latest fall 2019, pre-COVID-19.
Sophomores and up, took SAT's before fall 2019.

In reality, anyone trying to take the SAT's during COVID-19 that is applying for SMART has already taken it before and therefore would only take to increase their score. Such a small list of people that would need to retake SAT's or even reconsidering it. I do not think that it would be necessary to waive it.

With many schools waiving standardized testing this application cycle (SATs/ACTs/GREs), what do you think are the odds that SMART will also waive these requirements?

Personally I think this should be standard if the STEM program you got into didn't require these in the first place. I find it a bit odd that if you were already accepted (for grad school at least) you should not need to take the GRE solely to meet this arbitrary requirement.
