The answer to this question will mainly only be helpful for those who already know they are being recommended by a SF (which would seem to apply to quite a few people on here).
Does anyone have any sense of what our chances of getting the scholarship are if we've been recommended? I think I read somewhere that 60-70% of the recommendations SMART gets from the SFs are accepted. At first glance, that might tell you that you have a 60-70% of making it if you know you've been recommended; HOWEVER, it seems that many candidates get recommended by multiple SFs. Do you think that 30-40% rejection rate includes recommendations that are rejected by SMART because the candidate was awarded a position at a different SF? If that's the case, maybe our chances our better than we thought and we're getting worked up over something we actually stand almost 100% chance of getting (again, for those who know they've been recommended and are still going crazy waiting to find out).
What do you guys think?

Re: Let's talk about our chances
I think it's 60-70% of anyone who is recommended, regardless of how many times they were recommended. Being recommended by multiple SFs would probably boost your chances though.Guest147 wrote:The answer to this question will mainly only be helpful for those who already know they are being recommended by a SF (which would seem to apply to quite a few people on here).

Re: Let's talk about our chances
I wondered about that. I couldn't find where I got those figures (60-70%) but it made sense to me that some SF would be rejected if their applicant was going to another SF. Then again, I suppose if that were the case, the SF would just select their second pick.Guest wrote:I think it's 60-70% of anyone who is recommended, regardless of how many times they were recommended. Re: Let's talk about our chances
Do you guys think the 60-70% number is still true? During my follow-up convo with my interview panel they strongly implied that they recommended me up the chain of command.
Re: Let's talk about our chances
Did anyone else have follow up calls after their interviews? I heard this is like 2/3 chance if you got this it’s like stage 4 or something.
Re: Let's talk about our chances
I emailed SMART and they said follow-up calls are on a case-by-case basis. I think it’s unlikely a component facility would call you unless you were recommended by more than one SF.
Re: Let's talk about our chances
Interesting, I only had 1 interview though I did think it was odd to have the follow up call.
