What if my SF drops me?

Has anyone had an experience where, after their internship, the SF decides that they no longer want to sponsor you? Does SMART find you a new facility or are you forced into repayment?

Officially, if your SF decides they no longer "want" you then, they notify SMART and SMART finds another SF willing to sponsor you. If SMART can't find any replacements they release you without the requirement for repayment. As far as I understand, these rules are for a case where your SF decides your skills/interests genuinely do not align with theirs. If there was some kind of misconduct or other influences as to why they wanted to dismiss you then it might be harder to get a replacement SF and SMART might dismiss you in a way that does trigger repayment.

Welcome. The Unofficial SMART Scholarship Forum is fully supported through this banner add. In the past, I have relied on this income to pay for all hosting and domain charges, but it has only covered half of my expenses in recent years. If this is the first time you are seeing a banner here, it is because an adblocker has prevented it from appearing (I don't blame you). If you have found this forum valuable, I would appreciate it if you consider supporting its upkeep.
