Site Visit

Postby RoboBronco » Wed May 23, 2018 9:49 pm

Has anyone been denied a site visit after you turned in your paperwork, or is it just protocol to do it? I'm less than 3 weeks from my visit and SMART still hasn't approved my form, and I'm trying to decide if I buy my airline tickets now or after I receive approval. I know I'll get the $2k if approved, I'm just worried about buying the tickets and then for some stupid reason be denied. What have you all done in the past?

Thanks!

I have my site visit relatively soon, and bought my tickets at the beginning of the month when my SF gave me a date. SMART approved the visit for me a couple days ago, and I have yet to receive the $2k. If you have a date already with your SF, then you should probably buy the tickets. Summer is a busy time depending on where you're going. (If it's not popular with tourism though, then I don't think it would hurt to wait until SMART has approved your form.)

I had to resubmit my form, because the date and the location had changed, and SMART ended up approving it quickly. Maybe you can send them an email and ask if there is something wrong with your request form?

Welcome. The Unofficial SMART Scholarship Forum is fully supported through this banner add. In the past, I have relied on this income to pay for all hosting and domain charges, but it has only covered half of my expenses in recent years. If this is the first time you are seeing a banner here, it is because an adblocker has prevented it from appearing (I don't blame you). If you have found this forum valuable, I would appreciate it if you consider supporting its upkeep.
