Site visit payment

Postby NewScholar » Thu May 10, 2018 9:16 am

Does anyone know how much the payment for the initial site visit will be? I live a few hundred miles away from my site and if I know how much I will be reimbursed I can figure out approximately how much I will spend on travel and hotel.

Thanks!

I received $2000 in travel funds last year, so it's probably a similar amount this year.

It is in the packet you can print out. The amount is $2000 if you are a couple hundred miles away.

Did your SF provide transportation when you arrived? Or did you have to rent a car to get around town?

We had an employee from the SF come pick us up at the airport on their way to the facility. Maybe ask your coordinator to see if you could carpool?

From the third page of the Site Visit Request form:

Recruitment Site Visit Request
• Recruitment scholars must submit the Site Visit Request along with the award documents and prior
to booking travel.
• Scholars contact their SF Point of Contact (POC) to receive site visit dates.
• Based on the availability of funds, recruitment scholars whose summer address is 50-200 miles
from the SF may receive a $500 flat rate for travel to and from. Recruitment scholars whose summer
address is 200 miles or more from the SF may receive a $2,000 flat rate for travel to and from the
site visit. No additional funds will be provided.
