It totally threw me off... but it seemed pretty scripted but I guess it went well? She told me I'd hear by the end of last week, but of course, I didn't. Now I'm back at school from Spring Break and it doesn't help to have my family texting me every 20 minutes asking if I've heard yet! I just want to know!!!!
I know how you feel.

If you get it, you get it. If you don't get it, what did you lose? Nothing. Don't let anxiety get the best of you in the next few days (or weeks).

Easier said then done lol. I should have made an e-mail just for this scholarship though, every time I get a notice on my phone that I have a new e-mail my heart skips a beat. I'm going to have a freaking heart attack lol. Good luck everyone.

They will let us know either way tomorrow right? Like, if I don't get the scholarship, they'll still tell me, right?

Keep in mind they have been saying on or around April 1st, so don't get too crushed if you hear nothing tomorrow.

Award letters are going out today. Yes we recongize the irony in sending these out on April Fools day but that's the way it goes. We had a lot of work to do. Yes, everyone not recieving an award will also recieve notification regarding thier status. The award letters come directly from ASEE, no other offer or implied offer is a valid award offer. Thank you for your interest in the Program.

Whatever. We haven't heard from an official source on this board during the entire process, and all of a sudden we get an official response. April Fool's day brings out the best in trolls, I guess.

SMARTGuide previously posted in the same thread a few months ago with information:

Perhaps it's not a troll.

So we should all get emails today, one way or the other? This waiting game is annoying!

Please try to keep critical comments to a minimum. SMARTGuide has posted several times, most notably, the stickied second post in the forum.

I thought I would post in this thread since it seems most relevant to us again... seems last year there was a finalist e-mail.

so if you don't get an email, then that means you're out of the running? :?: :?: :?:

It was not my intent to suggest that only to bring up that we might be getting letters soon and to keep an eye out. They might not even be sending letters this year as there have been a couple of changes since last year. I just noted that it was right around this time the letters went out last year.

I don't think that if you do not get an e-mail you are out of the competition. There are many things that are not being done like previous years, like the fingerprint cards for example. Besides, one member of this forum (Ian C) contacted ASEE directly via e-mail asking a similar question, here is an extract of his post:

"4) Will I be notified on/near March 15 if I was not recommended to SPO for award, or will I just have to assume I was not if I never get an interview from SPO?

All semi-finalists will receive notification at the end of March if they have been selected as an awardee. The SMART Program has not notified us as to whether next-level notifications will go out before then or not."

Based on that response and the timeline posted on the SMART Scholarship Website, we will find out on or about April 1st.

Don't give up yet!
