2022 Applicants Thread

Post by phdhopeful2021 »

Hi all, I know that semifinalists aren't usually announced until early February but I am just a ball of nerves waiting without a response so I am making a thread for commiseration if anyone is active on here.

I am in stage 2 and, with support from my SF, applying as retention. I do not have high expectations, but I thought I should at least try. If not, the facility has other options for me. Best of luck to everyone.

Last year I found out on my birthday that I didn't get it. Then a couple weeks later I got an email asking me to schedule an interview with a sponsoring facility.

2nd chances are a thing. So you never know.

Not a semifinalist, oh wells. Perhaps I'll get selected as a backup in the future? One can hope.

Good luck to everyone!

Good luck to everyone who made it! :D

Unfortunately, I wasn't selected, but I'm sure ya'll had stellar stats compared to me.

In case anyone is curious:
Currently, a PhD student studying composites (4.0 GPA)
MS Materials, focus on biomaterials (3.5 GPA)
BS Materials, minor in Chemistry (2.8 GPA)
