Hi,
Does anyone know if there is an appeals process, whereaybe we could contact a facility, or another fellowship that could be applied for that is more immediate. I will be beginning my pH.D and was hoping to start with this fellowship.

There is no appeals process. Unfortunately it comes down to the pool of applicants, the SFs preferences, and the amount of spots that SMART allocates to each SF.
The only thing you can do is what to see if another scholar turns down the award, and it is offered to you by SMART.
