Below you can find acceptance data from previous years. Hope this help students looking at applying for SMART fellowship.

• 2005 - Pilot program conducted
• 2006 - Program made permanent (33 students)
• 2007 – First full year 107 students
• 2008 – 179 students
• 2009 – 263 students
• 2010, approximately 300 awards were given out.
• 2011, approximately 240 awards were given out.
• 2012, approximately 135 awards were given out.
• 2013, approximately 140 awards were given out.
• 2014, approximately 150 awards were given out.
• 2015 – 207 students
Typically, the awarded rate out of reviewed applications is between 9-11% each year. The number of awards given out varies each year based on the needs and budget of the Department of Defense Sponsoring Facilities at that time.
