They pay what the school bills them; essentially, they get billed like you would and write a check. So you will not receive an overage. Smart's bill accounts for whatever is owed on your bill.
If your other scholarships don't come through until after SMART has paid, that may be a different situation. That would depend on if the other scholarship allows it to be kept as overage.
