I realize it has been a few years since the question was posted, but I figured someone else may be interested. I currently receive both the Post 911 GIB and the SMART. The VA pays the book allowance and the monthly quarters allowance just like always. They do not pay any tuition since that is covered by SMART.

I'm hoping to as well. Especially since I won't be using the GI BIll money for anything else after spending another 4 years in school...
Does the local VA verify that you are receiving tuition assistance from outside the Montgomery GI Bill program? Its been a few years since I last dipped in to this pot so I dont remember.
