Chances with my major

by BriD87 » Fri Aug 31, 2012 4:14 pm

So here is my situation. I'm a first year masters student in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, so I will try to apply under the cognitive and behavioral sciences category of majors. I will not have a grad school gpa by the time applications are due. My undergrad GPA was 3.2 cumulative, 3.6 in major. I will have conducted 1 year of research in my undergrad (with an associated conference presentation) and approximately a semester of research in grad school. Also, I was selected for and participated in the NREIP program (also run by ASEE and ONR) this past summer, so I already have some experience with military research and have an existing security clearance. Also, my recommendation letters would be pretty strong from that internship.

My question: Do you think all of this makes for a competitive application, considering my GPA is on the lower end?
