So I am traveling overseas this winter as well. On my way I have a 22hr layover in London for which I included in my location and hotel. If it’s just day trip I would still include it in your list of countries/locations but especially if you are staying long enough to book a hotel I would include the information just to be safe.

so the purpose of the notification is to record where you've been such that it doesn't (or would minimally) affect your clearance in the future. Foreign travel is something that can jeopardize your clearance if viewed suspiciously. I would err on the side of caution and provide as much information as you can. This is generally the case for all clearance related paperwork -- they don't want you to "hide" anything.

In the future, do this far ahead of time! I am doing fieldwork this summer in July and I've already started the notification paperwork and plan to submit it soon.

I'm going abroad for winter break, but don't plan to be in any one location for a long period of time. Do I need to include all the potential places I might be in the Lodging information or is one location ok?
Also how important/thoroughly do they look at the Lodging Information?
