I talked to other SMART scholars from my school in New Mexico, and the deal here I think is that SMART just pays whatever the school doesn't. In NM we have state funding for certain students (which I have) and I unofficially found out I can keep it, along with my merit scholarship from my school since it is not federally funded. I think it is just case by case for whatever school your at, I'd call the financial aid office or whoever or try and get ahold of any other scholars at the school.

I think everyone decided it depends on how your school sends the bill. My school doesn't subtract financial aid/scholarships on the bill so SMART would probably pay the whole thing and the scholarships would go towards housing and eventually extra would be returned to you.

If I am receiving a scholarship from my school, does SMART pay the rest of my tuition, or the full amount??? Tuition is about 40k and I am receiving 26k from my school.
